The DCM is a GSR who has been elected by his fellow GSRs within a District to represent them on the Area Committee. The DCM also chairs the monthly District Committee Meeting and is responsible for coordinating and assisting the efforts of the other GSRs in the District. Please refer to the pamphlet "Your D.C.M. District Committee Member" for more information.
The ADCM assists the DCM and helps keep informed of Area and District activities; assumes the DCM’s duties in his/her absence; maintains group contact information on behalf of the District and may serve as District liason to local intergroup committees such as grapevine, public information, etc. The ADCM is typically elected at the same time as the DCM.
The Secretary records the minutes at the District meetings and functions; prepares the minutes and distributes them to the District Committee and all GSRs.
The Treasurer records and acknowledges group contributions; maintains the District’s bank accounts; pays all of the bills incurred by the District Committee; submits “group contributions” lists to each GSR, and financial statements on a monthly basis to the District Committee.
The Webservant is responsible for maintaining the District's official website, www.district25aa.org, and ensuring the accuracy of all information which it contains. Tasks performed by the Webservant include uploading current District Committee documents, such as meeting minutes and treasury reports to the site; maintaining the Group/Meeting list as well as the District Calendar of Events; and performing periodic archiving of previously uploaded documents and other information that are no longer relevant to current District Activities.
In addition to these duties, the DCM may assign additional duties to each officer on an as needed basis such as serving as chairperson of ad hoc subcommittees responsible for planning future District activities including workshops, alkathons, etc. As the fellowship continues to expand, it may be necessary to reassign duties or appropriate individual ones in order to maintain a balance of service among the officers.
